12 Inch Seamless Extensions

Want proof? Here are some seriously stunning ways to style hair extensions for volume. From glamorous vintage waves to rocker-chic shags, there’s a look in this list for every type of occasion, including weddings, date night, and special events.

1. Voluminous lob

Lobs, also known as long bobs, are a universally flattering hairstyle, whether you’re rocking one with layers, messy texture, or ombre color. This style is all about letting your hair’s individuality shine through. Plus, you won’t have to worry about awkward grow-out phases with the lob.

To style a lob with mega volume, you’ll need high-quality clip on hair extensions, hairdresser scissors, some combs, and a hair clip. Our Application Kit will help keep all your tools organized, whether at home or on the go. Start with dry hair that’s freshly washed and clip in your 12 inch hair extensions toward the bottom of your head. Take an extension with three clips and clip it onto the back of your head, then place another one right on top. Next, place a set with two clips on each side, right behind the ears.

Then take a set with four clips to put in along the back of your head, followed by another one on top.

After securely clipping in your extensions, use hairdresser scissors to blend perfectly with your natural hair. If your hair is around shoulder-length, you probably will not have to do much cutting with 12 inch extensions. After the length is on point, take your natural hair out of the clip and brush it out with a comb, doing any touch-ups as needed. Now you’re ready for the fun part, styling! First apply some root-lifting spray for texture and volume spray just above the hair extensions. You should already be seeing some va-va-voom volume. If you want to take your lob to the next level, add a few curls into your hair with a thin curling iron.

2. Glamorous retro waves

Want to add some glamour to your look? Consider giving Velcro Hair Rollers a spin. These old-school rollers will give you bouncy, beautiful hair in a few easy steps. Plus, they’re heatless, so they’re safe for natural hair and extensions.

To use velcro rollers, start with wet hair. Apply styling mousse and let hair air dry. When your hair is slightly damp, you’re ready to roll! First section hair into three parts, then into smaller sections to match the size of your rollers. The bigger the roller, the more volume. Hold a section of hair out straight and roll the ends inward around the roller. Repeat until all sections are securely in place with rollers. Let hair sit for about 20 minutes. If you want to take the volume up a notch, pop in some rollers around the crown of your head and leave them while you do your makeup or get dressed.

3. Sweet side braid

If you’re searching for the perfect braid style to make you feel special, look no further than this voluminous side braid. Whether heading to a summer party or the first day of class, this romantic hairstyle will turn heads.

Start by using a curling iron to add loose waves to your natural hair and extensions. Spray locks with a heat protectant spray to minimize heat damage. After your hair is curled, bring it to one side of your head. Divide hair at the temple and securely clip in a weft with three clips. Take a section of hair from the top and tie it into a ponytail with an elastic. Carefully make a little hole in the elastic, flip the ponytail, and bring the hair through the hole. This will form the topsy tail part of the braid. Next, create another ponytail with hair from the other side of your head. Make another topsy tail. Repeat until you have three or four topsy tails from the temple to the ear. Secure a three-clip weft at the roots underneath the bottommost tail. Bring all of your remaining hair together and braid it into a fishtail. Use an elastic to secure the bottom. As a finishing touch for extra volume, gently pull apart little pieces of the braid to make it look thick and full. Add some sparkly hair clips, flowers, or headband to jazz it up even more.

4. Bouncy blowout

You don’t have to schedule an appointment at the salon to get a bouncy blowout. You can achieve this statement style at home with volumizing shampoo and conditioner, and don’t forget to apply heat protectant spray before using your blow dryer. After your hair is washed, prepped, and you’ve clipped in your extensions, apply a thickening or volumizing spray to help lift hair at the roots. Then, mist your entire head with texturizing spray. Now you’re ready to turn on that blowdryer. Blow hair dry upside down for amazing volume. Once your hair is almost dry, use a round brush like your stylist. Start with your brush at the root of the hair. As you blow dry, pull the brush toward the end of your hair. Once you reach the end, pull the brush back toward the roots. Blast with some cold air to help lock in frizz-free volume. Repeat on the rest of your hair until you have a salon-worthy blowout.

For an extra punch of volume, stack our Volumizer Weft over the weft on the highest part of your head. This weft effortlessly clips in to add beautiful thickness and volume.

5. Lob with curtain bangs

If you love the lob, consider spicing it up with a fun set of curtain bangs. These wispy bangs date back to the ‘60 and ‘70s, when celebrities like Brigette Bardot, Farrah Fawcett, and Goldie Hawn popularized the look. They are usually parted in the middle and swept to each side of the face, like curtains. The angled bangs are shorter in the center and longer on the sides, which makes the eyes pop.

If you want to pump up the volume on your curtain bang lob, use a blow dryer and 1-inch round brush. Blow dry wet bangs on both sides until about 50 percent dry. Then, part them down the middle and wrap the hair around your round brush. To get the characteristic curtain bang shape, bring the brush forward, back, and up while blow drying. Apply some texture spray to the ends of your bangs for a finishing touch.

6. 1970s shag

Known for its choppy layers, bangs, and wild texture, the shag cut was popularized by the likes of Stevie Nicks and Mick Jagger. Today, stars like Selena Gomez, Billie Eilish, and Miley Cyrus are rocking this edgy look in various ways, including the wolf cut and shag mullet. This layered haircut has a natural volumizing effect and it’s relatively low maintenance to style at home. You can let it air dry or enhance the tousled style with a texturizing spray to get a voluminous look. If you have curly or wavy hair, apply a curl cream and let it air dry to play up your natural texture. For straight hair, add mousse or styling cream to damp hair prior to blow drying. Scrunching hair upwards while blow drying will increase the volume. Clipping in hair extensions will let you play around with length and mix things up, whatever style of shag you have.

7. High-volume ponytail

Flirty, playful, and fun, the ponytail is one of the most versatile hairstyles around. Beyonce’s high pony is short and sweet with lots of volume on top. To recreate the look, start with second day hair. Take a section of hair from the front of your face about two to three inches on either side. Apply dry shampoo at the roots and backcomb your hair with a teasing brush. Next, clip in a four-clip weft upside down at the roots along the back of your head, followed by a three-clip weft at the crown. You can stack two or more wefts together to create more thickness. From there, you can gather your hair into a high ponytail. Moving toward the back of your head, clip two one-clip wefts into separated sections of hair. Bring natural hair over the wefts and bring it back with the rest of hair into the ponytail, securing with an elastic. To add some flirty wave to your pony, wrap one-inch sections of hair around a one inch curling wand. Tease the top of the ponytail with a teasing brush for even more volume. Mist hair with hairspray to complete the look.

8. Hollywood waves

Inspired by the likes of Marilyn Monroe and Veronica Lake, Hollywood waves will make you feel like a movie star, no red carpet required. The vintage hairstyle was first worn by actresses in the 1920s, and it’s still popular today with the likes of Amanda Seyfreid, Megan Thee Stallion, and Gemma Chan. To style elegant Hollywood waves at home, part hair to the side and blow dry smooth using a round brush. Next, use a 1-inch barrel tong to curl hair and then pin and cool for 10 minutes. Brush downwards in small sections to loosen the curl. Keep your glamorous waves smooth and shiny all day long by finishing off the style with a light layer of hairspray.

9. Beachy waves with center part

Effortless, laid-back, and timeless, beachy waves aren’t just for the beach. This perfectly imperfect style looks great at any length and can easily fit into any type of occasion. Whether you’re rocking shoulder length waves with our 12-inch extensions or going for longer lengths, you can style beachy waves with hair extensions for va-va-voom volume in a few simple steps. Begin with dry hair and apply heat protectant spray before using a 1.5-inch curling wand over hair. Curl hair in different directions to achieve those signature messy and tousled waves. Once you’re done curling all of your hair, finish off with some texturizing spray to add more volume and give you that beach vacation look.

10.  Half-up, half-down

No matter your texture, hair color, or length, the half-up, half-down hairstyle will work for you. This style is ideal for concealing greasy second-day hair and transitions from day-to-night. Plus, there are plenty of creative ways to pull strands back from your face and add eye-catching volume. Take Lana Del Rey’s look, for example. The star’s style, inspired by Sharon Tate, features face-framing strands on either side of her face and plenty of volume up top. To recreate the stunning volume, clip in your favorite hair extensions and then pin up half of your hair with a clip or elastic. Tease hair on top into a high crown for a statement half-up style.
