Slay the Runway: Oribe at New York Fashion Week S/S 2025 – Events


Every year, prestegious hair care brand Oribe and their amazing stylists rock the runway at New York Fashion Week in the spring and fall. This season’s NYFW S/S 2025 shows were headlined by some stand-out designers, and the Oribe team only enhanced the models by creating stunning hair looks. Check out the step-by-steps for some of the best looks below so that you can recreate them for your own clients or editorial shoots.

Diotima

The Diotima Spring/Summer 2025 Collection was inspired by a Jamaican folklore called “Pocomania” meaning “little madness.” This show, set in the format of a theatrical presentation, hinged on the theme of exercising creativity and whimsy. Session Stylist Joey George captured this essence through a very quirky and playful hair look.

  1. First, dampen dry hair with Foundation Mist.
  2. Apply Invisible Defense Universal Heat Protection Spray followed by Royal Blowout Heat Styling Spray to seal the hair, protect from heat, and detangle.
  3. Next, blowdry the hair in sections and part the hair on the side. Use a flat brush to direct all hair back and away from the face.
  4. Once the hair is smooth and straight, pull it into a ponytail at the nape, and secure with an elastic cord.
  5. Wrap the ponytail into a chignon bun and place a hair net over it. Spray Superfine Strong Hair Spray to seal and hold the bun.
  6. Cut a line of hair extensions into the length of baby bangs and spray them with Superfine Hair Spray.
  7. Curl the extensions with a curling iron and then attach the extensions with tape to the hairline.
  8. Apply Gel Sérum Radiance, Magic and Hold to the bangs for a wet look finish.

Monse

The Monse Spring/Summer 2025 Collection is a cheeky and playful take on suburbia, deconstructing American sportswear classics. Oribe Principal Artist of Global Design, Kien Hoang, enhanced and elevated the natural textures of each model’s hair to represent the purest versions of themselves.

  1. First, begin with a natural center part.
  2. Prep the hair section by section with Balm d’Or Heat Styling Shield, focusing on sealing the ends, and Gold Lust Dry Heat Protection Spray to shield hair from thermal damage and impart gentle moisture.
  3. Create an individualized style, depending on hair texture:

    • On straight hair: Use a 1-½ inch curling iron to create soft bends and enhance the natural haircut.
    • On curly or wavy hair: Use a 1-½ inch curling iron to stretch out the curls and create a fluffy texture.

  4. Spray Dry Texturizing Spray on roots for added volume.
  5. Apply Fiber Groom Elastic Texture Paste on the ends of the hair to create subtle separation and add hydration.
  6. Tuck hair behind ears and spray Imperméable Anti-Humidity Spray on the hair to tame flyaways and to lightly set the hair.
  7. Finish with Gold Lust Dry Heat Protection Spray for a final dose of shine and hydration.

The Rachel Comey Spring/Summer 2025 Collection aimed to inspire clients to feel motivated, adventurous, and optimistic, true to the designer’s commitment to crafting each silhouette with intent.To complement this vision, Oribe Principal Artist of Global Content, Mandee Tauber enhanced natural textures and cuts to make each model look like their best self.

  1. First, prep the hair with Foundation Mist.
  2. Saturate mid-lengths to ends with Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil and Grandiose Hair Plumping Mousse, finger-raking the product through the hair to create a wet look finish.
  3. Apply Gel Sérum Radiance, Magic and Hold to the roots for hold and illuminating sheen.
  4. Seal mid-lengths to ends with Curl Gloss Hydration & Hold for added definition and shine.

  1. First, prep the hair with Maximista Thickening Spray.
  2. Using the Italian Resin Flat Brush, blow dry the hair away from the face.
  3. Starting at the nape of the neck, comb the hair back and spray Free Styler Working Hair Spray section by section to create a tight, low ponytail with no parting. Secure with a long elastic cord.
  4. Wrap the hair to form an undone, low chignon for a raw, tied look. Secure with the ends of the elastic cord.

Ulla Johnson

The Ulla Johnson Spring/Summer 2025 Collection was inspired by the colorful paintings of American artist Lee Krasner, whose patterns and prints are used throughout the collection. Oribe Session Stylist Joey George brought the vision to life by creating whimsical patterned looks in the hair, matching intricate shapes in the hair to the artwork on the clothing.

  1. First, apply Foundation Mist to freshen up the natural curl wave texture.
  2. Apply Featherbalm Weightless Styler on top of it to hydrate and smooth the hair.
  3. Finish with Curl Gloss Hydration & Hold, making the curls uniform but light and bouncy.

  1. Apply Invisible Defense Universal Heat Protectant on damp hair.
  2. Use Straight Away Smoothing Blowout Cream to blow-dry and stretch the natural hair texture.
  3. Gather and braid the hair into geometric cornrows using Rough Luxury Soft Molding Paste throughout.
  4. Once the head is fully braided, set the final look with Superfine Strong.

  1. Apply Maximista Thickening Spray onto damp hair and blow dry the hair straight.
  2. Divide the hair into two sections in the back of the head diagonally.
  3. Pull both sections into ponytails.
  4. Braid the ponytails into two fishtail braids and spray with Après Beach Wave and Shine Spray to add grip and pull it into place.
  5. Combine the two braids together and fasten them into one twisting S-Shape on the back of the head.
  6. Fasten with pins and set with Superfine Hairspray.

Wiederhoeft

The Wiederhoeft Spring/Summer 2025 Collection draws inspiration from the darkness of the 1947 film Black Narcissus, true to the designer’s dramatic roots. Oribe Principal Artist of Global Design, Kien Hoang brought this vision to life by creating slept-in styles characteristic of exhausting nights out.

  1. First, create an irregular center part.
  2. Apply Invisible Defense Universal Protection Spray to protect against heat.
  3. Divide the hair into small sections then layer Straight Away Smoothing Blowout Cream and Royal Blowout Heat Styling Spray to each section. Using a flat iron, smooth down each section to create separated, beveled ends.
  4. Apply Fiber Groom Elastic Texture Paste on the ends and seal with a flat iron to create a dove feather look.
  5. Tuck the hair behind the ears and let the front pieces fall in front of the face.
  6. Spray Après Beach Wave and Shine Spray all over and dishevel the hair with your hands for an undone look.

  1. First, use a comb to create a perfect center part.
  2. Prep the hair with Straight Away Smoothing Blowout Cream and flat iron straight.
  3. Rake the hair behind the ears and gather into a low pony at the nape of the neck. Secure with an elastic.
  4. Fold the pony and wrap the hair into a nape-hugging chignon with Gel Sérum Radiance, Magic and Hold.
  5. Pull a few pieces to frame the face for a lived-in look.
  6. Spray Superfine Strong Hair Spray to set the look.

Willy Chavarria

The Willy Chavarria Spring/Summer 2025 Collection, titled “América,” reflects the designer’s emphasis on diversity and unification, with inspiration from the work of photographer Nacho Lopez. The show also included a live performance by musical trio Yahritza Y Su Esencia and concluded with the exciting announcement of Willy’s new collaboration with Adidas. Session Stylist Joey George captured the essence of these stories through bold and adventurous hair looks.

  1. First, apply Foundation Mist throughout the hair to dampen and diffuse.
  2. Apply Maximista Thickening Spray section by section while blowdrying the hair.
  3. Tease the volumized hair upwards, using Dry Texturizing Spray to sculpt the hair into a boxy pompadour shape.
  4. Set the shape with Superfine Hair Spray.
  5. Finish with Superfine Strong Hair Spray for a firm hold.

  1. First, blow the hair straight with Straight Away Smoothing Blowout Cream, brushing it back and away from the face.
  2. Gather the hair into a low ponytail at the nape and secure with an elastic.
  3. Lacquer the full length of the ponytail with Gel Sérum Radiance, Magic and Hold.
  4. Braid the ends of the ponytail straight down the back.
  5. Apply Gel Sérum Radiance, Magic and Hold to the ends of the ponytail, creating a firm and hard finish.
