Moroccanoil Styles Hair for Bronx and Banco Bridal Fashion Week Show: Get the Look – Events

The Moroccanoil Artistic Team, headed by Moroccanoil Vice President of Artistry Kevin Hughes, created beautiful hair looks for the Bronx and Banco Fall 2024 Bridal Fashion Week show.

“‘La Danse Blanche’ is inspired by my love affair with ballet that began when I was just six years old,” says Natalie De’Banco, founder and designer of Bronx and Banco. “The collection is my tribute to a ballerina’s unique ability to embody both divine femininity and unwavering strength – the goal was to represent the dancer’s timeless elegance and spontaneous playfulness through each of my designs.”

To accompany this theme of femininity and strength, Kevin Hughes led his team in creating sleek and elegant updos on the models.

“My number one most used product in my kit is my Moroccanoil Treatment because you can use it so many different ways,” Hughes explains. “The first way is detangling: simply glide the oil through damp hair in sections and brush through. Second, is using it after hair is blown out to eliminate the appearance of frizz while adding a ton of shine. I mean, who doesn’t want shiny, healthy-looking hair? Moroccanoil Treatment can also be used to transform a previous style. Let’s say the hair was curly going to a straight look, you can apply it directly to dry hair and re-blow dry.”

See below for the step-by-step of how they achieved the ballerina-esque bridal updos for the Bronx and Banco show.

  1. Apply a dime size amount of Moroccanoil Treatment – or Moroccanoil Treatment Light for finer hair and lighter tones — from mid-lengths to ends to provide the perfect foundation for styling.
  2. Work Moroccanoil Smoothing Lotion into the hair in 3/4-inch sections from mid-lengths to ends to defrizz and leave the hair luxuriously silky.
  3. To protect the hair from all heat styling, apply Moroccanoil Perfect Defense globally throughout the hair.
  4. After letting this fully absorb, section by section, starting at the nape use the Moroccanoil Perfectly Polished Titanium Flat Iron and smooth hair from root to ends. This will create an ultra-slick look.
  5. Create a side parting and leave out a few soft strands at the very front on the heavy side of the part, these will be used for a soft fringe effect.
  6. Pull the hair back into a very low ponytail, secure with elastic thread or hair bungee.
  7. Use Moroccanoil Smoothing Lotion on the front strands that were left out and create movement across the forehead and blend ends into the sides of the hair.
  8. Twist the ponytail and wrap it around the base elastic to create a tight bun, securing it as you go with bobby pins.

*Stylist tip: if you have trouble creating a bun, braid the hair first and then wrap into a tight bun.

  1. Secure the look with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Strong to strengthen the hold and ensure no flyaways.
  2. For ultra shine, mist hair with Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray.
