From Grassroots to Sprout: Celebrating One Year of Impact – News

Publisher’s Note

Grateful for leaders like Daniel Johnson who continue to inspire our professional beauty community. It’s been tremendous to watch the Green Beauty Community Foundation and the cause that Daniel, Hannah, and their team have brought to our professional beauty industry. I first met Daniel in 2022, and he’s one of those rare individuals you instantly connect with, he’s smart, passionate, and rooted in family and legacy.

At last spring’s Beauty Changes Lives event in Chicago, Daniel shared he was pursuing a 501(c)(3). Having gone through the process myself twice for two organizations where I held board positions, I know how challenging—but rewarding—it is. When someone like Daniel, so passionate and committed reaches out and asks you to pledge, you simply know it’s the right thing to do.

I hope you’ll join me in celebrating this organization’s success along with us, it’s pretty amazing!

One year ago, the Green Beauty Community became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. What started as a grassroots network has sprouted into a growing movement of beauty professionals who believe sustainability should be the industry standard—not a niche.

What We Built in Year One

Turning intention into action

  • The Green Pledge. 400+ salons have committed to five sustainability actions, receiving a certificate, badge, and turnkey marketing kit.
