NHBF Announces New Board Members for 2024


The National Hair & Beauty Federation (NHBF) is thrilled to announce the successful candidates of the 2024 Board Member Elections. Following voting last month, NHBF is delighted to introduce the newest additions to its board, who will officially start from the Annual General Meeting scheduled for July 2024.

NHBF Chief Executive Office, Caroline Larissey, expressed her delight in welcoming the new board members, stating: “I am delighted to welcome NHBF’s newest board members. Each brings a wealth of experience and expertise that will undoubtedly strengthen NHBF’s mission of promoting safe, legal, and profitable salon businesses.”

Debbie Digby, a stalwart in the hairdressing industry with 45 years of experience, joins the board bringing her expertise as the founding partner of Feathers Salon Group and CEO of Passion4hair Ltd. With a deep understanding of the industry’s challenges and opportunities, Debbie’s vision for professionalism aligns seamlessly with NHBF’s objectives. Debbie said: “I’m looking forward to being a board member of the NHBF to contribute and learn as the industry navigates change and moves into the future.”

Louise Fordham, an advocate for creating inclusive and supportive work environments, brings her experience as a salon owner of Bespoke Hairdressing, Rugby, and her background in leadership and management to the board. With a commitment to promoting unity and inclusion, Louise’s contributions will undoubtedly enrich NHBF’s initiatives. Louise commented on her appointment: “Through my role with NHBF, I will be a passionate advocate for best practice that encourages creativity and diversity within our industry. In our salon, we get to make people happy every single day and that’s why it’s such a great world to be part of.”

Completing the trio is Richard Marshall. Founder of Pall Mall barbers in London and New York, Richard is a respected figure in the barbering world known for his dedication to elevating industry standards. Richard’s appointment heralds a new era of innovation and positive change within NHBF and the broader sector. On appointment to the role Richard said: “For me, it’s about giving back and adding value to much loved. When I was 16 at college, I used to compete at NHBF competitions, and many years later I get to add my 36 years’ experience back into shaping our industry. I’m really excited to be adding as much value as possible and making a different at every level.”

The NHBF would like to extend its congratulations to Beverley Bates for securing a second term as a board member. This reaffirms her dedication to the organisation and the sector. The NHBF is also pleased to share that Jamie Mettyear has been promoted to the position of Vice President. Jamie has been serving as a dedicated board member for several years and this promotion is a well-deserved recognition of his hard work, commitment, and valuable contributions to the organisation. The NHBF is excited about the continued growth and success that Jamie’s leadership will bring to the organisation in the future.
