Interview By Charron Monaye, Hype Hair Contributor

She’s Backkkk!!! Treasure Thompson is a woman who refuses to be defined by labels, whether reality TV star, nurse, actress, producer, or wellness advocate. From her earlier television appearances to her starring in films such as Unhinged Love and The Shop Series, Treasure’s building a career rooted in heart, purpose, and transformation, telling stories that don’t just entertain but heal and inspire long after the credits roll. Every project she touches reflects her evolution as a woman and creative force; one committed to turning pain into purpose and passion into power.
Off-screen, Treasure is the visionary behind TreasureGemz, a lifestyle and wellness brand empowering women through holistic practices like her signature Erotic Yoni Yoga, which blends sensuality, mindfulness, and physical wellness. Guided by faith, authenticity, and a deep commitment to forgiveness, she approaches both life and career with intention and grace.
But today, in this exclusive interview with Hype Hair Magazine, Treasure opens up about rekindling friendships, her new film project Hood to Hollywood, and how faith, wellness, and forgiveness have helped her reclaim her power and rewrite her story, one chapter at a time.
HH: You’ve crafted a career defined by transformation, from nurse to actress, producer, and wellness advocate. What’s the thread that ties all these parts of your life together, and what does it reveal about who Treasure Thompson really is?
Treasure: At the core, I’m a woman who leads with love. I care deeply about people, about healing, about truth. Whether it’s through nursing, storytelling, or wellness education, everything I do is rooted in service and authenticity. I’ve been in the entertainment space for years, acting and modeling since my 20s, but it’s my faith that’s carried me through the journey. It’s taught me that while the path may change, the purpose doesn’t. I’ve learned to adapt, to stay grounded in who I am, and to show up fully no matter the season. I’m a multifaceted mother, creator, and healer on a path that’s uniquely mine. And every title I’ve earned along the way has only added more depth to the woman I’m becoming.

HH: You’re the creator of Erotic Yoni Yoga, something truly unique. How would you describe it to someone unfamiliar with the practice?
Treasure: Erotic Yoni Yoga is a holistic, sensual practice for the modern woman seeking to reconnect with herself on every level—physically, emotionally, spiritually, and erotically. It focuses on strengthening the pelvic floor using yoga poses and yoni eggs, while also awakening your sensuality and creative energy. With my brand, TreasureGemz, we explore the balance between wellness and sensual empowerment. It’s about reclaiming your body, your pleasure, and your power through intentional movement and mindfulness.
HH: From HER and Unhinged Love to The Shop and A Mother’s Adoration, your film résumé continues to expand with purpose and passion. Congratulations on being cast in When Fatal Attraction Hits Home, based on a true story. What draws you to a project and how do you decide which stories deserve your voice and creative energy?
Treasure: I follow my gut and my heart. If a script doesn’t move me, if it doesn’t serve a purpose or carry a message, I simply don’t pursue it. I want to be part of stories that make people think, feel, and ultimately grow. At this point in my career, alignment is everything. I’m not chasing attention; I’m looking for meaning. The roles I choose have to reflect the woman I am and the legacy I want to leave.
HH: Your new film, Hood to Hollywood, has everyone talking!! It’s not just a project, it’s a powerful reunion between you and Blac Chyna! After years apart, what was it like stepping back on set together, not as reality TV stars, but as women who’ve grown, healed, and evolved?
Treasure: I’ll be honest, I was nervous. It had been so long since we’d last seen each other, and I didn’t know what to expect. Our lives had changed in major ways, and I was curious to meet the woman she had become. When she reached out, the moment I picked up the phone, she led with accountability. That alone made me feel safe, seen, and loved. I was shocked—in a good way. I’d waited so long for her to reach out, and just when I had let go of that hope, she found her way back to me.
There’s always been this natural chemistry between us, an unspoken language, the kind of bond where we could laugh until we cried without saying a word. We met the night before filming, which helped break the ice and spared me a few tears on camera. We talked and laughed like no time had passed. It was like coming home.
HH: Hood To Hollywood dives into friendship, forgiveness, and faith, three things that can be tough to live out in public. Which part of that journey hit closest to home for you, and what emotion do you hope audiences carry with them after the credits roll?
Treasure: The reunion itself was the most meaningful part of this journey. Although we’d reconnected a year prior, we hadn’t seen each other in person until this moment. There was even a missed chance at Howard’s Homecoming, we were in the same city but on different paths. Looking back, I’m grateful it didn’t happen then. This moment, now, was divinely timed.
We weren’t just catching up, we were capturing something real, something that speaks to the heart of true friendship: navigating distance, misunderstanding, even embarrassment and still choosing to reconnect. That’s what makes this film special. This is someone I’ve shared a lifetime with. We’ve built businesses together, traveled the world, and even became godparents to each other’s children. Losing that relationship felt like losing part of myself. But getting it back? That was healing. I want viewers to walk away with one message: It’s okay to forgive. It’s okay to heal. And it’s never too late.
HH: This project also marks a collaboration with Hungerford Films. What drew you to work with them, and how did their vision align with yours?
Treasure: I’m signed under their management, and from the very beginning, they’ve believed in me. They took a chance on me for a film role, and from there, we’ve continued to build. It means everything to grow with a team that truly understands you, people who listen, who execute, and who show up with excellence, even on tight timelines. They allowed me to express my vision, and they brought it to life with grace and speed. I trust them completely, and I’m proud to keep creating alongside them.
Iconek Films also came on board, and working with them was an absolute pleasure. They brought passion and professionalism to every step of the process.
HH: Was there a moment during production when you felt God’s presence so strongly that you knew this wasn’t just filmmaking, but healing in real time? How did prayer and spiritual discernment guide your approach?
Treasure: Yes!! Absolutely!! One moment that stands out is when we paused to pray before filming. The energy in the room shifted. It was a shared acknowledgment that what we were doing was bigger than ourselves. I knew right then that this wasn’t just a film; it was a ministry in motion.
Prayer was a compass throughout this process. I had to be intentional about coming from a place of grace, not grievance. This wasn’t about rehashing pain, it was about showing what healing looks like, what accountability looks like, and how faith can restore even the most broken places. Telling this story with love was the only way it could be done.
HH: You’ve built a life rooted in care from your days as a nurse to your work as an artist and advocate. In an age of curated perfection and constant pressure, what does true wellness mean to you?
Wellness, to me, is wholeness. It’s not just about physical health, it’s about emotional stability, mental clarity, spiritual grounding, and community connection. As a nurse, I’ve seen how vital it is to treat the whole person, not just the symptoms. In the age of social media, it’s easy to confuse “looking well” with being well. But real wellness is messy. It’s honest. It means allowing yourself to rest, to feel, to heal, and to be vulnerable. It’s about grace over grind. For me, wellness is a lifestyle rooted in intention. It’s how I live, how I love, and how I serve.
Film production is both creative and business-driven, something many don’t realize. What’s one lesson you’ve learned about the business of entertainment that every aspiring creator should know?
Treasure: Relationships are everything. Talent matters, but connections sustain you. This industry is built on collaboration, and the people you align with can make or break your progress.
I’ve learned that authenticity, humility, and a strong work ethic will take you far, but so will showing up consistently, respecting others’ time, and being someone, people want to work with. Creative success and business success go hand in hand. So, my advice? Nurture your relationships like your next big break depends on it…because it just might.
HH: And finally, Treasure, when the cameras stop rolling and the applause fades, who is the woman you most hope the world truly remembers?
Treasure: I want to be remembered as someone who loved deeply, prayed boldly, and never gave up. A woman who turned her pain into purpose and used that purpose to help others find healing too.
HH: When can readers expect the film to be released? Will it be in theaters, on streaming, or both? And how can they support you and this project?

Treasure: We’re waiting for the final release date from the network, but we’re planning some amazing viewing parties in major cities once it’s locked in. It’s going to be a celebration of healing, sisterhood, and new beginnings.
