Grateful beauty pros impacted by the California wildfires hug volunteers passing our relief kits.
The Professional Beauty Association (PBA) distributed essential tools and supplies totaling more than $100,000 to help beauty professionals rebuild their livelihoods and resume work.
“When I got home, I just started crying. What PBA and its partners are doing for the community is a blessing,” says Jennifer Jackson, a hairstylist who received a kit. “Losing my kit in the fires was so hard because it took me years to build and it was expensive. Now, I can go back to work.”
SOS Beauty hosted the distribution event to help nearly 100 licensed beauty professionals at is Beverly Hills offices, on Feb. 3rd. Those impacted had the opportunity to select items such as hair dryers, flat irons, curling irons, clippers, brushes, color supplies and other professional tools to help get them back in business.
“You absolutely can’t imagine the pure joy you brought today to so many. I’ve been through many times in my life where people were so kind and generous under many different circumstances, but I have never been treated the way you guys treated us,” says Marice Egan, a Palisades hairstylist. “Honestly, we will never forget it. Thank you again for your hard work and kindness.”
“These kits are a crucial part of our ongoing efforts to assist those affected by this crisis. We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support from our members, partners, and sponsors, whose contributions have made this relief effort possible,” says Leslie Perry, executive director of PBA. “The beauty industry has always been resilient, and its strength truly shines when we come together to help one another in times of need.”
Stylists who were unable to pick up a Beauty Relief Kit on Feb. 3 will have another opportunity during the Premiere Anaheim event on Feb. 23 or 24. For more information on obtaining a kit at Premiere Anaheim, submit a request here.
